Soft Face Hammers
Estwing’s soft face hammers’ heads are entirely made of hard rubber.
These rubber mallets are offered in black and grey.
Latest processing technology achieved the production of a head which does not bounce back on
impact, but transmits the energy onto its selected target. On the other hand, the mallet head is still
soft enough to prevent marring of the target. The handle is made out of high grade hickory wood.
This mallet is the ideal tool for assembling wooden furniture, for example, where it is critical not to
scratch or mar the woods delicate surface.
For more solid applications, Estwing offers the Polyurethane Deadblow hammer, which comes with a vinyl grip.
The head and handle are a one-piece polyurethane construction, which increases durability and elasticity both at
the same time. Head and handle do not expose any metal pieces, which might put damage onto surfaces or
objects you are working with. The head contains hundreds of steel shot to increase control and force and
reduces rebound at the same time. Its handle grip made of vinyl is designed to absorb impact-related shocks,
in order to reduce fatigue and damage of hands and arms.
The Estwing’s sledge hammer shows many characteristics of the aforementioned soft face hammers. Head and handle are
also a one-piece hot cast polyurethane casing. This allows more elasticity and durability. Inside the
polyurethane casing you will find a rod welded to a steel canister in the hammer’s head, which is filled with
hundreds of steel shot. This steel shot provides extra impact without the need of extra effort for the
user. This safes energy and makes the work less tiresome. The entire polyurethane casing will not
expose any interior metal construction. It is equipped with a “self-healing” memory of the casing, which makes it
extremely resistant to wear and tear. The handle is again equipped with a vinyl grip, in order to give you a
firm grip on the hammer, and reducing shocks being transmitted to your hands and arms to a
minimum.
With the production of assorted soft hammers for more delicate assignments, Estwing completes the
line of construction-related tools and applications. The complete line of tools, be it roofing tools,
hatchets, hammers etc. is being produced with the help of latest technologies to be able to reduce application
time, effort and ultimately money for the user, providing at the same time a maximum of safety, durability and
comfort. These tools are suitable for professionals and hobby construction fans alike. At the same
time, all the Estwing tools come in an esthetic fashion of polished steel and elegant design. It seems as if
Estwing had in mind to create collector’s items as well.
