Drywall Hammers

Estwing drywall hammers are designed removing or installing drywalls.  Their design is somewhat unique, since their head sports on one side a hammer with a serrated face for better grip on nail heads and a hatchet on the other side for cutting drywall.

That’s why this hammer is also called sometimes a drywall axe. The task of the hatchet blade is to produce easily rough-cutting holes on the drywall.  The hammer side of the Eastwing drywall hammer comes with a magnetic nail starter in the handle and a nail puller in the blade.  Like all Estwing hammers, the drywall hammer has a patented shock absorbing nylon vinyl grip, to avoid long-term damages to bones and muscles of hands and arms of the user.

The serrated face of the hammer provides more safety in driving nails into the wall, since the design of the face prevents the hammer sliding off the nail head during hammering.  This makes it possible for an experienced worker to drive a nail with a single smooth blow into its defined position, using an Estwing drywall hammer.  This is of some importance, because applying more than one blow might cause additional damage or dents to the panel structures.  This would ultimately result in additional repair work, like finishing, mudding or taping of the damaged areas.

Estwing drywall hammers come in different sizes and with different weights.  So you can choose which of them is the right one for you.  Keep in mind, that this kind of hammer should be properly weighted.  If it’s too heavy, the hammer’s application might suffer in accuracy, since panel hanging goes along with an intensive and extensive nailing.  With a proper Estwing drywall hammer, you will be able to do the job in a fast, easy and smooth way.  The magnetic starter will help you to keep the nails in the install position.

The axes on the opposite site of the drywall hammer is designed to rough cut holes and openings into the wall.  These openings might be intended to place an electrical outlet or switch.  With the Estwing drywall hammer you will be able to achieve this fast and in an accurate manner.  In case a nail is found to be not in a proper place, the axe blade can be used as a puller, which is already notched into the blade.  This saves you the effort to look for an extra puller, thus saving time and effort in your work.  With the Estwing drywall hammer you will hammer all nails properly, so they will not pop later on.

With this hammer and all the other fantastic Estwing construction tools, you are ready to do your home renovation projects just by yourself, thus saving substantial amounts of money you would be needing to spend  for a hired contractor to do the work for you.
